You'd never say it out loud, but you're exhausted from putting everyone else first. For these few hours, the only person you have to look after is you.

What this is, in plain English
You'll lie down somewhere comfortable, and Kelly and Stephen will guide you through a specific way of breathing for a good stretch of time. There's no chanting and no performing, and nothing weird is asked of you at any point.
What that breathing does is something your thinking mind has never managed on its own. It eases you out of the fight-or-flight gear you've been stuck in for so long that it just feels like being you now, and once you're out of it, your body finally gets a chance to put down some of what it's been carrying.
What it's designed to do
Why this isn't woo woo
You don't have to believe in anything for this to work, and we'd rather you didn't take it on faith anyway. When you breathe slowly and deliberately the way you're guided to on the day, you're working a real nerve, the vagus nerve, that runs from your brainstem down through your chest and belly. Stimulating it tips your nervous system out of fight-or-flight and into the state your body actually repairs and settles in. That's not a belief. It's the same mechanism your doctor is relying on when they tell you to take a slow breath.
A 2023 review from the University of Sussex and University of Oxford pooled twelve controlled trials and found breathwork was linked to meaningfully lower stress than doing nothing.
Across that same body of research, the people doing breathwork reported lower stress, less anxiety, and fewer depressive symptoms. Three of the exact things that keep the head running at night.
We'll be straight with you, the same researchers warned against overhyping it, and so will we. Breathwork isn't a cure and it isn't a replacement for proper support if you need it. It's a real, measurable way to take the edge off a nervous system that's been running too hot for too long.
In their own words
I'd tried talking therapy and trauma work, but I was still stuck. I left feeling like a different person. The breathwork shifted something. I felt lighter, like tension I'd been carrying in my body had dissipated.

This is the work that finally shifted things for us when nothing we'd talked about ever did. It's why we run these days the way we do. Kelly & Stephen Elliott
