Honest answers

Everything you'd want to ask before you book.

No sales language, no dodging the awkward ones. If you can't find your question here, ask us directly and we'll answer it the same way.

A free 30-minute chat with Kelly or Stephen. No pressure at all.
Getting started

Where to begin.

The questions almost everyone asks in the first ten minutes of a free chat.

Do I work with Kelly or with Stephen?

If you want to focus on your child, understanding the behaviour, building a calmer relationship, showing up steadier as their mum, that's Kelly. If you want to focus on you, breaking the cycle you inherited, falling back in love with home, doing the deeper self work, that's Stephen.

On a free chat we'll help you decide. Most people know within the first ten minutes. Some people work with both of us over time, and that's fine too.

Do you work with dads, or just mums?

Kelly works with mums and teenagers. Stephen works with both mums and dads. So yes, dads, we've got you.

Stephen's cycle-breaking work is where most dads start, usually because something has made them realise they don't want their child to remember the version of them that's been showing up.

How do I know if I'm ready for this?

You don't need to be at rock bottom, and you don't need to have it figured out first. If you've noticed the same reaction happening over and over and you're tired of it, that's ready enough.

The free chat exists precisely so you don't have to decide in the dark.

What actually happens on the free chat?

Thirty minutes on a video call with Kelly or Stephen. You tell us what's going on. We ask the questions you probably need to be asked. Then we tell you honestly which of us, if either, is a fit for you right now.

If we're not the right people, we'll say so and point you somewhere better. There's no pitch you can't say no to.

How our work works

Why this holds when other things haven't.

The difference between what we do and what you've probably already tried.

Is this therapy? What's the difference?

No. We're trauma-informed coaches, not therapists, and that's a real distinction rather than a wording preference.

Therapy generally works backwards into the past to process and treat. Coaching works forward from where you are now, building the tools, awareness and regulation to change what's happening in your life today. Trauma-informed means we understand how the past shapes the present and we won't push you somewhere your system isn't ready to go.

If what you need is therapy, we'll tell you, and we won't take you on instead.

I've done all the therapy, all the books, all the podcasts. Why would this be different?

You've done the surface-level work: the understanding, the analysing, the vocabulary. You can probably explain your own patterns better than most people. But knowing why you shout doesn't stop you shouting.

We work with what's underneath: your nervous system, the patterns you're playing out, the family script you inherited. That's why it holds when other things haven't.

My brain won't switch off no matter what I try. Why would this work?

Because most of what you've tried is brain-first: more thinking, more analysing, more reading. The mental noise isn't living in your thoughts, it's living in your nervous system.

A body that's been running on adrenaline for years doesn't get talked down. We work body-first, and the head quiets as a result.

How fast will I notice a change?

Most parents notice something inside two weeks: a calmer response to a moment that would have set them off before, sleep a bit deeper, mornings a bit less chaotic.

Deeper change, the kind where the old reaction genuinely stops being your default, takes longer. We won't pretend otherwise.

You can't think your way out of a body-based problem. That's the whole reason the reading didn't hold, and it's not a willpower failure.
1:1 coaching

Private sessions, at your pace.

The deepest work: private, tailored, and led by what you actually need.

What does a 1:1 session actually look like?

Sixty minutes on video. It's part conversation, part practical work. You'll talk about what's actually happening at home, and we'll work with what's underneath it, which often means breathwork or somatic practice in the session itself rather than just talking about it.

You leave with something to use, not homework to feel guilty about.

How many sessions will I need?

Most people work with us over a block of six to eight sessions, usually fortnightly, because change needs time between sessions to actually land in real family life.

Some stay longer. We won't tie you into something you don't want, and we won't string you along either. If we think you're done, we'll say so.

Do I need to tell my partner I'm doing this?

That's entirely yours to decide. Plenty of people start this work on their own, sometimes because the conversation at home is part of what's difficult. It's confidential either way.

Teenagers

A space that's completely theirs.

Kelly's work with young people, and what it means for you as their parent.

My teenager is struggling. Can Kelly work with her directly?

Yes. Kelly coaches teenagers 1:1, in a private, judgement-free space that's completely theirs. Parents don't sit in the session, so the young person can speak freely.

Kelly also has sixteen years' experience as an additional support needs teacher, so nothing about what your teen is bringing will feel unfamiliar to her.

What ages does Kelly work with?

Kelly coaches young people from around twelve upwards. For children younger than that, the work is with you as the parent rather than with the child directly, because that's where the change actually happens at that age.

Will Kelly tell me what my teenager says?

No, and that's deliberate. The session is confidential, which is exactly why it works, because it's the one place your teenager can speak without managing anyone else's feelings.

Kelly will always break confidentiality if there's a safeguarding concern, and she'll be clear with your teen about that from the start. She'll also let you know how things are going in general terms without repeating what was said.

My teenager doesn't want to talk to anyone. Is it worth trying?

Often yes, but don't force it. A teenager dragged into a session tends to sit there proving a point. What works better is offering it as theirs, something that isn't about you and that they can walk away from.

If they're a flat no, work with Kelly yourself first. Changing how you respond changes the relationship, and teenagers usually notice that before they'd ever admit it.

Chaos to Calm

The group programme, led by Kelly.

For mums who are done being reactive and want a real, held path to calmer days.

What is Chaos to Calm?

Kelly's signature group programme for mums who are done being reactive and want a real, held path to calmer days. It combines teaching, breathwork and somatic practice with a small group of women who understand exactly what you're carrying.

The mental load drops faster when it's shared.

Do I have to talk in front of the group?

Never on the spot. Plenty of women stay quiet for the first couple of sessions and get just as much out of it. You share when you want to and not before.

What if I miss a session?

Life with kids happens and it's built for that. Sessions are recorded so you can catch up, and nothing is structured so that missing one leaves you behind.

Retreats & events

Real time out, hosted by Stephen.

Weekend resets, breathwork evenings and immersive workshops, mostly in Scotland.

Where do the retreats happen?

Mainly in Scotland. Weekend resets, breathwork evenings and immersive workshops hosted by Stephen. Real time out of the family home to do work that doesn't happen in a notification-filled day.

I've never done breathwork. Is it intense?

It can be powerful, and it's always your choice how far you go. Stephen guides the whole thing and nobody gets pushed. Some people have a big emotional release, others just feel calmer and lighter than they have in months. Both are fine.

If you have a heart condition, epilepsy, are pregnant, or have a history of psychosis, tell us before you book so we can adapt or advise.

I'd have to leave my kids for a weekend. Is that selfish?

No, and this is the single most common thing people say before booking. Two days away is a small price for coming home as someone your family actually gets to enjoy.

Your kids don't need you present every hour. They need you regulated when you are.

Pricing

What it costs, and how to pay.

No hidden tiers and no quote that turns into a bigger package once you're on the call.

What does it cost?

Pricing depends on which route you take: 1:1 sessions, the Chaos to Calm group programme, and retreats all sit at different levels, with the group programme being the most affordable way to work with us properly.

We'll give you exact figures on the free chat, and we won't quote you something and then reveal a bigger package behind it.

Can I pay in instalments?

Yes. Payment plans are available across the programmes and coaching blocks. Ask on the free chat and we'll sort something that works.

Practical

Where, how, and what if not.

Logistics, location, and the question people are too polite to ask.

Do you work in person, or online?

1:1 sessions and Chaos to Calm run online, so you can work with us wherever you are in the UK or beyond. In-person events and retreats run mainly in Scotland. Workplace work goes wherever your team is.

I'm not in Scotland. Does that matter?

Not for the coaching or the group programme, which are online and work just as well from anywhere. We work with parents across the UK and further afield.

It only matters for the in-person retreats, which are mostly Scotland-based.

Can we bring you into our workplace?

Yes. Kelly and Stephen deliver workshops, keynotes and longer programmes for teams together. Trauma-informed, nervous-system led, and built for the reality of working parents rather than lunchtime yoga that doesn't move the needle on burnout, absence or retention.

What if you're not the right fit for me?

Then we'll tell you on the free chat, and we'll try to point you towards someone who is. We'd rather lose the booking than take money from someone we can't genuinely help.

Still wondering

Question not on the list?

Ask us. Email either of us directly and you'll get a real answer from a real person, not a template. If it's the sort of thing other parents are wondering too, it'll probably end up on this page.

We answer everything ourselves. It might take a day or two.
Ready when you are

The version of home you've been quietly hoping for. It's still available.

Book a free 30-minute chat with Kelly or with Stephen. We'll listen properly, ask the questions you actually need to be asked, and tell you honestly which of us, if either, is the right fit for you right now.
